This pre-poo works a lot like a leave-in conditioner or hair mask, and it looks like one too (white and creamy). It strengthens and smooths the hair strands. You are supposed to put this on dry hair in generous amounts and then leave it on for at least 15 minutes, but you can even leave it on for a full 24 hours if you choose to. Then you shampoo your hair. I initially liked the fragrance (sweet, somewhat tropical) but I found that after I rinsed it off, my hair smelled a bit musty, so now I use a scented shampoo after using this. This keeps my hair from feeling too dry after I shampoo it, and it reduces hair loss.
